Welcome to
THE RED COAT
in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Ontario Canada

General Description

The Red Coat is a beautifully restored century home, circa 1901, nestled among the hills of the Niagara Escarpment, just a short drive down the beautiful Niagara River Parkway in charming historic Queenston. Featuring three luxuriously appointed rooms with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, and high speed wireless internet. A guest lounge is available on the main floor and gourmet breakfasts are served in our lovely Dining room including Niagara's best seasonal fruits and fresh baked goods. Choose to relax, dine or meet guests on one of the porches overlooking the breathtaking Niagara River.

The Red Coat, located within the township of Niagara on the Lake, is centrally located between Shaw Theatres, shops, golf courses, Casino Niagara and Niagara Falls. Follow the Niagara Wine Trail to over thirty estate wineries offering tours and wine tasting. If you enjoy the outdoors, hike, jog or bike along one of the many trails including the Bruce trail which begins at the base of our driveway! A free boat launch is also just a block away from our home.

Our property, like Niagara on the Lake, is rich in history and situated on the grounds of one of the important battles in Canadian history, the war of 1812. The Red Coat is a historical term used to refer to soldiers of the British Army because of the red uniforms formerly worn by the majority of regiments. Our home is within walking distance to many National historic sites including: Laura Secord’s homestead, The Mackenzie Printery and The Brock Monument situated in the beautiful Queenston Heights Park.

Your hosts, Sandra and Keith, grew up in the Niagara area and are keenly aware of what it has to offer. We take great pleasure in meeting new guests, suggesting ways to explore our region, and making your stay as relaxing and memorable as possible. We’re just a phone call away…

Breakfast

Gourmet breakfast is served in our lovely dining room. We take great pleasure in serving you the best Niagara has to offer. Gourmet teas and coffee, local cheese, fresh baked goods, sumptuous locally grown fruits of the season and of course one of our many fantastic main dishes.

We also cater to the many of the dietary needs of our guests, just let us know in advance and we'll make all the necessary arrangements.

We often take pleasure in meeting our guests and enjoying great conversation. Both Sandra and I have grown up in the area and would love to provide you with any type of recommendations.

Local Attractions

Many award winning wineries within a short drive. Just a 10 km scenic drive along the Niagara River to the Shaw Festival theatre, old town shopping and dining, Niagara Falls, two premier Casinos, Marineland, many other attractions to numerous to list.
